Survey Sheep, Scam or Legit? What You Should Know

By Kyle / May 15, 2017

If you are thinking about signing up for Survey Sheep to make money taking online surveys then I suggest you think again. I have reviewed this survey site and it is not all its hyped up to be. In fact, I would recommend that you don’t sign up for this site.

Is Survey Sheep a scam? I wouldn’t go as far as to say that it is a scam. However… there are definitely some scam qualities that it has that you need to know before you decide whether or not you want to sign up.

SurveySheepSurvey Sheep Review

  • Name: Survey Sheep
  • Website:
  • Cost: Free to Join
  • Recommended?: No, more on this later

Survey Sheep isn’t really a paid survey website. They don’t actually have paid surveys of their own that you participate in. And they don’t pay you for the paid surveys.

How It All Works

All they do is refer you to other paid survey sites.

After you sign up, which only requires you to enter your email and name, they will present you with a bunch of different survey sites to sign up for.

As you can see below, they are referring me to sign up for Vindale Research, Jobs2Shop, Survey Junkie, Panda Research, and more. I am very familiar with all of these sites and have even written reviews of several of them

They tell you to sign up for as much of these as possible because the more you sign up for the more money you will make.

Then if you go to the members area of the site you will see this… which is just a bunch of other recommended survey sites…

Is Survey Sheep Worth It?

If you go to the “about us” page you can read what it is that Survey Sheep claims to do for you.

They say that they match you with surveys based on the information in your user profile.

BUT…. there is a problem with this… they don’t have any information on you. The only information you provide when you sign up is your email and name. They don’t know anything about you and there is no profile for you to fill out.

So it is impossible for them to match you with surveys based on your profile. The fact of the matter is that they just try to refer you to every survey site they can. They aren’t referring you to any special sites, or any sites that are specifically good for you, they are just trying to get you to sign up everywhere.

And there is a reason for this…

The Underlying Scam

The reason for the existence of Survey Sheep is for the owners to make money. You see, with just about every survey site out there you can make money to refer people to them. Many survey sites pay a small bonus to members when they get other people to join in, and many continually pay every time the person you referred in makes money from taking surveys.

SwagBucks, MySurvey, Vindale Research, Survey Junkie, Inbox Dollars,… they all do this.

It is pretty obvious that Survey Sheep is only in it for the money. They just spit out a bunch of survey sites for you to join and tell you to join as many as possible.

How Much Money Will You Make?

Although I don’t care for what Survey Sheep is doing, the fact of the matter is that the survey sites they are referring you to are legitimate and you can make money taking surveys through them.

Unfortunately you won’t make much though.

Survey Sheep boasts of being able to earn from $25 to $75 per survey. In fact, this is the ad that I found them running on the BING search engine…

But this isn’t true. With what this site provides you will be very lucky to make over $6 – $7/hr. And I mean very lucky. You can generally expect to earn around $4 or $5/hr if you are taking surveys non-stop.

None of the survey sites that they refer you to are anything special by any means. They are all pretty much your average paid survey site.

The industry standard is to pay out very little for completing paid surveys like the ones you will have to complete. This is because it is very easy for market research companies to get people’s opinions. They have no need to pay any more than they do.

Should You Sign Up?

The only good thing that Survey Sheep does is provide you with a lot of options for survey sites to sign up for.

The reason this is good is because often survey sites only have a handful of surveys that you can complete at any given time. So it is likely that the opportunity to complete surveys and make money won’t be there. But if you sign up for a lot of places you will have more opportunity.

That said, it still doesn’t make any sense to me to go through this site. Just go straight to the source. You can sign up for SwagBucks, MySurvey, and all the other survey sites directly instead of going through Survey Sheep.

Final Thoughts, What I Recommend

Honestly I do not care much for any online paid survey site. The opportunity with this site just isn’t there and you barely make any money for the time you put in. And I really don’t care for Survey Sheep because they are in it only for the money and offer nothing of real value. All they are is a middleman that does nothing really.

That said, if you are interested in earning pocket change taking paid surveys, then I do think that the sites Survey Sheep refers you to are decent. They are all legit and you can make money taking surveys.

But like I said, I don’t really recommend any paid survey site. They just don’t pay much at all and there are better ways to make money online with your spare time.

I make a living working online for myself and I sure as heck am not going around taking paid surveys. I have written a post on what I do to make money online, how it all works, and how others can do the same. You can click the link below to read about it.
