Is Plexus Worldwide a Scam? Can You Really Make Money?

Plexus Worldwide has what can potentially be a lucrative business opportunity. But is it really as good as they say? Or is Plexus Worldwide a scam that is just going to end up leaving you discouraged and disappointed in the long run?

There is a lot of hype surrounding the business opportunity that this company offers so I thought I would write this review to clear a few things up. I’ll be going over how it works, how you make money, the downside to it, and who it is best suited for.

plexus worldwidePlexus Worldwide Business Opportunity Review

  • Website:
  • Type: Health & wellness mlm company
  • Legit?: Yes

Plexus Worldwide is a mlm company that sells health and wellness products, mainly dealing with weight loss and weight management. I am not here to review their products but for what its worth they seem to be good quality.

This company uses what you call a direct sales business model. They do not sell products in stores. Instead they rely on their sales force of independent distributors to do all the marketing and selling.

Recruitment of other distributors is also a big part of this business and I’ll go over how all of this works in this review.

Similar mlm’s include Zurvita and It Works!.

Cost To Join

You will have to pay an annual membership fee of $34.95 to stay active. This is nothing major by any means.

On top of this you also need to remember that you will be buying products from Plexus which you will then be selling on your own. This is the much bigger cost here.

How You Make Money

As an ambassador, which is what they call their independent distributors, there are going to be 2 ways that you are going to make money: by selling Plexus Worldwide products and by recruiting others to do so and earning commissions off of them.

Personal Sales

As an ambassador you are going to be able to purchase Plexus Worldwide products at discounted prices which you will then be able to sell at markups, thus earning the difference between the 2.

You will also be given your own unique Plexus Worldwide website that you can sell products on 24/7 without ever actually buying and handling the product.

The amount you will make off of these personal sales depends on the amount of sales you get. If you have less than 500 in PV (personal volume) for the given month then you will earn only 15% but if you have over 500 PV for the given month you will earn 25%.

Recruitment is the name of the game when it comes to mlm’s like this. If you want to make good money you need to recruit, bring in new ambassadors beneath you, and earn from what they do.

There are 10 ranks within Plexus Worldwide and if you want to make as much as possible and unlock the entire compensation plan then you need to climb the ranks. Climbing these ranks is all about recruitment. With every rank the requirement for the amount of personal sales you must make remains the same. The difference is the amount of people you must sponsor (recruit).

You will be able to make money off of the ambassadors beneath you by down to 7 levels at the most. Level 1 are your personal recruits, level 2 are the ambassadors that they recruited, level 3 are the ambassadors that level 2 recruited, and so on.

They have a confusing point system where you earn points on those in your downline but I’m not going to get into all of that.

The diagram below shows what it would look like going just 2 levels deep…

The Untold Reality Here

If you were contacted by an ambassador of this business that was trying to recruit you in, chances are they only told you good things. They told you about all the money that you can make and how much potential there is.

And this is true. With a mlm compensation plan like this one there is a lot of potential to move up and earn tons of money… and some people do earn a killing doing this. But the reality is that most people fail.

Mlm structures like this will always have extremely high failure rates because you have to recruit to make good money… and with a pyramid-like structure like this there will always be more people near the bottom struggling than at the top, which is where the real money is made.

In order to make good money you have to have a big downline with people beneath you.

This is the same for just about every mlm out there.

I was actually able to find an official income disclosure chart from Plexus Worldwide that shows you how little most people make. Its from 2015 and I know its old but I couldn’t find a newer one and the company hasn’t really changed so the earnings are still probably around the same.

As you can see, I circled how much money over 96% of ambassadors made for the entire year of 2015. It is extremely low. 84.25% made an average of $417.

Final Thoughts & What I Recommend

Plexus Worldwide is not a scam as far as I see it. There are a lot of people claiming that their weight loss products don’t work but I’m not reviewing the products here. As for the business opportunity it is not a scam. However… it isn’t right for everyone.

In fact I would say it is a bad opportunity for most people. The people that succeed here are those that are extremely motivated, aren’t afraid to go out and recruit, and have that salesperson type personality. But then again… without all the people that are at the bottom failing it wouldn’t be possible for those at the top to make good money because of how focused on recruitment this is.

There is a lot of potential here but the overwhelming majority of people fail. That is what you need to know.

If you are like me and are just not the salesperson type that would be any good at selling or recruiting, or you want another option for making money with your own business, you should read my post on how I make a living working online (link below). I work for myself online and its a pretty awesome career. In the post I wrote I explain what it is that I do, how it all works, and how others can do the same.
