If you are looking to make some extra money online taking surveys then OnePoll is one of your options. But should you join this place? Is OnePoll legit or is it just another scam that is going to be a waste of your time?
There are a lot of legitimate paid survey sites out there but there are also scams that don’t pay out and sell your personal information without your consent. In order to determine if OnePoll is legit or not you have to dig a little deeper than just reading what you see on their website. I took a look into this paid survey site for you and in this short review I’ll be going over a few things you should know.
- Website: onepoll.com
- Type: Paid Survey Site
- Cost to Join: Free
- Rewards: Checks by mail, PayPal, and more

OnePoll is a market research research company that offers online surveys as a way for people to make money and a way for them to do research.
There about a thousand different paid survey sites out there and the legitimate ones are all the same type of deal. They get paid by all sorts of companies to collect people’s opinions so that these companies can go out and improve products and services. They then pass some of this money on to you, the survey taker, as some incentive to actually take the survey in the first place.
When OnePoll began they only hosted PR surveys for the PR industry. But they have since evolved into what the more common survey site is like, where they offer surveys for all sorts of areas.
How It Works
If you are familiar with survey sites like SwagBucks then you know how all of this works. Its pretty simple…. you sign up for free… you fill out a profile… they offer you relevant surveys based on your profile… you take the surveys… and you get paid. Simple as that.
It is very important that you fill out your profile and answer the questions accurately. They will use this to match you up with appropriate surveys and if you don’t fill out this accurately you will likely get disqualified from a lot of surveys that you attempt to take.
The surveys available to you will be listed once you log into OnePoll. Each survey will say what category it falls into (Food, Sports, Health, etc) and it will have the reward amount listed beside it. These surveys are you typical online surveys. They consist of just a bunch of multiple choice questions and are very easy to fill out.
2 Types of Surveys
There are 2 types of surveys offered at OnePoll. There are their Standard Surveys and then there are what they call the Competition Surveys.
Standard Surveys are your regular old surveys where you complete them for a small cash reward. You can generally expect these to pay out anywhere from £0.15 – £0.50, although you will occasionally see ones that pay out higher rewards.
On the other hand their Competition Surveys don’t pay cash rewards. Instead you get entered in sweepstakes drawings that pay out anywhere from £100 to £1,000.
The cash out threshold is fairly high with OnePoll and this is one of the things I dislike about this site. You have to reach £40 before you can cash out.
Once you reach that balance, which is going to take all of eternity, you can cash out by direct deposit into your bank account, via PayPal, or you can choose to receive a check by mail.
Reading reviews from other members online is always a must in my opinion. If there is one thing that you should do to determine if a survey site is a scam, this is probably it. They aren’t always 100% accurate and people often badmouth survey sites for dumb reasons, but its still important to look into.
With OnePoll there are several complaints that I encountered on multiple occasions from different people…
Can Reach Cash Out Threshold
There have been multiple people complaining on different review sites online that they cannot reach the £40 cash out threshold. They claim to reach right up to it (£39+) but once they get their they all of a sudden stop receiving surveys and opportunity to make it there.
This is a big problem and it is one that I have encountered before when reviewing survey sites. They don’t want to pay you so instead of not paying you they just make it impossible for you to reach the amount you need to get paid.
Now whether this is 100% true or not I don’t know. There are people who claim it is easy to get paid but the fact that multiple different people are complaining about this same thing make it a more believable complaint.
Payments Take a While
It seems that those who do get paid have to wait about a month to actually get their payment. I don’t know why it is this long but I personally don’t have too much of a problem with this. At least you are getting paid.
Lack of Surveys
Without surveys you can’t make money. And unfortunately, like most survey sites, there just aren’t all that many (and I’m not talking about for those that have £39+ in their account).
You shouldn’t really expect more than 1 survey a day. And sometimes you might only get a couple for the entire week. It just all depends on market demand. It will also differ for each person based on your demographic.
Final Thoughts & What I Recommend
Overall I would consider OnePoll to be legitimate although they do seem to be involved in some rather dubious practices. Personally I don’t recommend them as a paid survey site. I would recommend SwagBucks over them for multiple reasons. 1) They have more credibility and are more trustworthy, 2) They have more ways to earn money (games, tasks, etc), 3) There is more opportunity to earn money, 4) you can get paid a heck of a lot faster, and other reasons.
However, I don’t particularly recommend any paid survey site. They all pay out very low and are just not worth the time that you have to put into them as far as I see it.
They are a good way to earn a few extra bucks every month but it by no means is going to make you much. If you are looking to make real money online then I suggest taking a look at how I do so.
I actually make a living working online and I sure as heck am not going around browsing the web all day for money. I have written a post on what I do to make money online, how it all works, and how others can do the same. You can click the link below to read about it if you want to.
