Is Computer Trends a Scam? – Please Avoid!

By Kyle / June 3, 2018

Is Computer Trends a scam? The answer is Yes… This is a scam. This scam program has been going around for a while and “Computer Trends” it is one of its recent new names. It is a rather old scam that has been changing names frequently to lure in new unsuspecting individuals.

One of the reasons that this scam keeps changing names is because people like me keep writing reviews about it warning people. But of course the scammers behind this all don’t want people to be warned about it. They are trying to make money and want as many people to buy in as possible. So whenever there are reviews scaring people away, they simply change the name and rebranded it as a new program for making money online.

The Computer Geeks, The Computer Dudes, Computer Technical Guys, and others are examples of a few other names that this scam has been promoted under. Below you can see a screenshot I took of Computer Trends along with two screenshots of identical programs that I just mentioned, which I have reviewed in the recent past…

Pretty Much Everything They Tell You Is a Lie

Most of what you are told is a lie. Rhonda Paul is supposedly is the creator of this program but in reality she is not even a real person. I mean, sure, there are lots of people out there with the name Rhonda Paul, but what I am saying is that this particular Rhonda Paul does not exist. She is a fictitious character that was made up for the purposes of promoting this scam and nothing more.

Do you want to see proof that this is all fake? Well then I’ll give you proof. Below you can see a screenshot of “Rhonda Paul”

that I took from the sales page along with the fake little story about her being a struggling single mom living paycheck to paycheck…

And now below this you can see 4 other screenshots I took from four identical scams that have one by different names in the past. They switch the pictures of the woman and change the names, but the background story remains the same…

link posting scammers
They also lie to you when they tell you that you will be making an average of $15 per link that you post and that this will only take one to two minutes to complete. This makes it seem as if you can just post tons of links, up to 60 in an hour, and make $15 for everyone. This would be absolutely insane if you could make this amount of money doing something so simple, but the reality is that this is not true. If it were that easy… Believe me I would be doing it and I would have all of my family and friends doing this in their spare time as well.

Nothing But a Waste of Time

This “link posting” stuff does not work. It is basically a ripoff version of what is called affiliate marketing, which is actually how I make a living online. With affiliate marketing you basically get paid to promote products. However, you do not get paid just for the promotion. What you do is you promote products via affiliate links and earn commissions when you help make sales. So you are “posting links” but there is much more to it than what they tell you in this scam.

Pretty much all the companies that do business online nowadays, like Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, eBay, etc. have affiliate programs that are free to join and that will pay you to promote their products and help make sales as I just explained above.

Why This Program Won’t Work

This program takes the complete wrong approach to things. They take the easy and cheap approach which takes little work, but does not pay off. The approach that this program takes is basically to spam links everywhere and hope that people click on them and buy the product you are promoting. But this way just doesn’t work, plain and simple. People are just going to click any old link that is posted online, or that they receive in an email, etc. People are more aware of what’s going on nowadays with computers and computer systems and know that there are scams out there, viruses, malware, and many bad things. So they are just going to go around clicking on links.

What You Get With This Program

if you were to buy into this program you would get a website along with some training. What you would be pushed and taught to do is to promote the same program to other people and make money doing so. So pretty much you will be pushed to scam people just as they just scammed you.

Overall this program is pretty much completely junk. It is old, outdated, rehashed, and is best described as a scam.

Affiliate Marketing The Right Way

As I mentioned, I actually make a living working online doing this affiliate marketing stuff. I’ve been doing this since 2015 so I know quite a bit when it comes to it.

If you want to earn money promoting products the right way than what you have to do is provide people with products that they want and are interested in. You didn’t just go out posting links everywhere and hoping that someone will click it and buy in. Instead, you place links that people are actually going to want to click in front of them. Remember… You only make money when the person clicks your link and then purchases the product. So they are going to have a genuine interest in the product you’re promoting before they even click the link. If you trick them into clicking links, this will not work out.

What  I Recommend

If you are looking to get started the right way then I would recommend the Wealthy Affiliate training program. This is the same program that I got started with back in 2015 so I can personally say from my own experience that it does work. Of course this matters on how much you actually apply yourself and other variables, but it does work.

Wealthy Affiliate not only provides training, but also provides tools that you will need to make money online, such as 2 free websites and more. It is kind of like in all in one type of deal where you get everything you need in one program. But I’m not going to get too much into this here. If you are interested in joining Wealthy Affiliate in getting started the right way you can read my review here for more information.

Please feel free to leave any comments, questions, or concerns below and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can 🙂 Also I would like to hear what you think about this Computer Trends scam.
