Recently I looked into Bizrate Rewards to see how good this place is and if its worth the time and effort. I had some people asking me about the legitimacy of this site and wondering is Bizrate Rewards a scam, so I did a little investigating.
What I can tell you is that they are not a scam. This is a legitimate site but there are some things that everyone should know before joining that you may not be aware of. And in this short review I’ll be going over exactly this.
Bizrate Rewards Review
- Website: bizraterewards.com
- Type: Paid survey site
- Cost: Free to join
- Rewards: Gift cards
- Legit?: Yes
Bizrate Rewards is a market research panel that is part of Connexity Inc. Basically what they do is work with big companies, gather customer insights via online surveys, and sell these results to the companies so that they can improve products and services.
And of course as some incentive they will actually pay people like you and I to complete these surveys.
How It All Works
1) Answer profile questions
The first step is to go through an initial survey and answer some questions about yourself. This is pretty simple and straightforward. These include questions about your gender, age, income level, job status, etc.
It is very important that you answer these questions correctly because they will create a profile for you based on these.
2) Sign Up
I know its a little strange that you will sign up after you answer the questions about yourself but that is the way it is. At the end of the survey you will be able to agree to the Terms and Conditions and you can sign up to become a Bizrate Rewards member. This is free to do.
3) Take Surveys
Once signed up you will start to receive survey invitations by email. You can generally expect to get around 2-3 invitations per week.
4) Redeem Points
With each survey you take you will earn points which can then be redeemed for things of real value.
Bizrate Rewards is pretty good when it comes to what you can redeem your points for. They offer gift cards to all the big retailers and many restaurants too. You can get gift cards for Amazon, Walmart, Target Macy’s, Starbucks, etc.
My only complaint about the rewards here is that they don’t offer PayPal payments. I like PayPal because you can use the money for anything you want. But unfortunately its is not offered.
Also, its important to note that you must reach 5,000 points in your account before you can redeem them for gift cards.
How Much Can You Make?
The answer is “not very much at all” but I will break it all down for you to give you a good idea of what is possible.
With each survey that you take you “can” earn anywhere from 50 – 5,000 points. However, many of the surveys pay less than 1,000 points. And each of these surveys will take you less than 20 minutes to complete generally.
1,000 points = $1. So it is possible to earn up to $5 for just one survey but usually, like I said, you are going to earn less than that. Generally speaking I would say that you will earn $0.10 – $2 per survey that you take but this is a very general statement.
Overall you just aren’t going to make much money at all. Its difficult for me to give you concrete numbers on how much you will make because the surveys are always varying in the payout due to a lot of reasons. But what I can tell you for sure is that Bizrate Rewards does not seem to pay out very high.
It has become the industry standard for survey sites to pay very little for your time and Bizrate Rewards pays little even compared to most survey sites.
As I just went over… you won’t make much. There is no survey site that actually pays “good” but Bizrate Rewards makes it seem like others do. There are many complaints from members that I have read over online of them getting a bunch of 50 – 100 point surveys. These are literally worth 5 to 10 cents and are a complete waste of time.
Lack of Opportunity
When comparing this site to other survey sites they really lack opportunity to make money. First off, they only offer surveys as a way to earn whereas sites like SwagBucks offer games, videos, tasks, surveys, and more. Second, you can only expect to get 2-3 surveys per week which is nothing.
As I mentioned they do not offer PayPal as a method for redeeming your points. There is no way to redeem them for money that you can use anywhere.
“Quota has been met”
There are a lot of people complaining about getting kick out of surveys because “the quota has been met”. What happens is sometimes you will start a survey and get 5 minutes into it or so and then get kicked out with this message. And because of this you will only get 25-50 points. This is a complete waste of time when this happens.
And its not like this is a complaint I found one time. I found this same complaint multiple times from multiple people and this is why its a concern that I needed to write down here.
Final Thoughts & What I Recommend
Bizrate Rewards is not a scam in my opinion but they definitely aren’t that great of a site either. Overall there are much better survey sites out there than this one. SwagBucks is probably my favorite just because they offer a lot more opportunity to earn money but there are others out there too that are better.
But honestly, I don’t really recommend any paid survey site all that much. They are an easy way to earn a little extra change but that’s it…. just extra change. There are better ways to make money with your spare time.
I actually make a living working for myself online and I sure as heck am not going around taking paid surveys. I have written a post on what I do to make money online, how it all works, and how others can do the same. You can click the link below to read about it if you are interested.
