If you are looking to raise money for an event, your kid’s sports team, or any occasion you might have come across ABC Fundraising. But is this place legit? Or is ABC Fundraising a scam that will leave you disappointed and discouraged?
I have had a few people ask me about his company so I thought I’d take an in-depth look into the program and see if it really lives up to the hype. In this review I’ll be going over all you need to know before you decide whether or not this is right for you. So take 5 minutes and read it over…
ABC Fundraising Review
- Name: ABC Fundraising
- Website: abcfundraising.com
- Recommended?: I’ll go over this at the end
From what I have found there are 2 types of people that are interested in ABC Fundraising. There are those that are looking to raise money for some special occasion, such as a sports team or event, and then there are those that are just looking for a way to make money from home.
With this in mind, this review is going to give you all you need to know no matter which type you are. I will be going over how you make money, how much money you can make, some complaints, and whether or not I recommend you use ABC Fundraising.
To start things off, lets go over how you will make money, or “fund-raise”…
Types of Products You Can Sell
High Profit Products
The high profit products that they offer include donation coupon booklets. With these products you get people to donate a small amount of money in return for a sheet of coupons to popular restaurants and stores. They have a “fun” way to get people to donate, so its not like you just go up and ask someone to donate a certain amount of money.
Their most profitable product in this category is “Scratch & Help”. With this product each member that is trying to raise funds should buy one of the Scratch & Help booklets. Then each member will take that booklet to family, friends, etc and have them scratch 2-3 of the scratch offs. Each scratch off will show a price from $0.50 to $3.00, and this is the price that the scratcher is to donate. As a reward, you will then give them one of the sheets of coupons from the booklet.
Each Scratch & Help booklet will earn you $100 once complete.
This category is where you go out and take orders for different items that ABC Fundraising offers. They offer cookie dough, pretzels, popcorn, snacks, and flower bulbs. And they will provide you with nice booklets that your customers can look through at the items. Orders are written down in a table provided in the booklet. There is no upfront cost on the orders.
When finished, simply tally up all the orders and place them through ABC Fundraising. The orders will be shipped directly to the buyer.
The order taker forms are pretty straight forward. You (and the other fundraiser members) get booklets for the product you want to sell. You go to family, friends, etc. and have people look through the booklets and place orders. You write down the orders. At the end, you tally up all the orders and place one massive order all at once.
Note: These programs are best for big groups because the minimum order size is 100.
Cash & Carry
This program is when you buy items up-front and then sell directly to the buyer. They offer lolly pops, gummy bears, chocolate bars, balloons, & cotton candy in this Cash & Carry program.
To do this program you will place an order up front, so lets say for 100 chocolate bars. Then you (and other members) will take around those chocolate bars and sell them directly to the buyer. And you keep the cash.
The difference between this program and the Order Taker programs is that with this one you sell directly to the buyer instead of taking an order.
This is great for events such as sports games where people want to buy something and have it immediately.
The downside to this is that you have to buy the products upfront. So make sure you can sell what you buy.
Custom Logo Products
The custom logo products offered include flip-flops & slides as well as discount cards.
The flip-flops and slides can be customized with an embroidered logo or your team, group, etc. These are to be sold to the team, or people actually raising the funds, not outsiders.
The discount cards on the other hand can be sold to anyone. These are basically coupon cards with your custom logo on them. They cost the buyer $15 each and have 15 different coupons on the back of them to different restaurants.
How Much Money Can You Make?
This is a question that I wanted to touch upon because it gets asked a lot. But unfortunately I won’t be able to give you a good answer.
The amount you can make is very subjective. You can score big if you are able to get big orders from schools, churches, youth groups, etc.
In fact, on ABC Fundraising’s website they state that “Recently a top distributor earned $7,200 with just one order from a school district! His commission was based on the sale of 1200 Scratch & Help® cards at a commission rate of $6 per card. “
$7,200 is darn good for one order. But obviously this isn’t common.
ABC Fundraising Complaints
They have been in business since 1993 and have been able to maintain a good reputation, so much so that they have an A+ rating with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) so its expected that I couldn’t find many complaints on them nor do I have any of my own.
The only complaint that I came across more than once was due to items being backordered. Apparently at times they sell more than they have available and this leads to long wait times.
This is understandable and happens to all businesses so its nothing I would be concerned about. Its not like there are hundreds of complaints on this.
Do I Recommend ABC Fundraising?
Yes I do recommend ABC Fundraising, but not to everyone.
You see at the beginning of this post I said that there are primarily 2 types of people that are interested in ABC Fundraising, those that are participating in a sport, group, club, etc and are looking to raise money for a special occasion, and then there are those that are simply just looking to make money with a home based business.
I only recommend this for the sports teams, church groups, club members, etc looking to raise funds. This company is very much designed to be for people looking to raise money with a group effort. It isn’t designed for an individual to go out there and make a living.
So if you need to raise funds for your club, or your sons soccer team, then by all means, use ABC Fundraising. I think they are a great company and have a solid reputation. But if you are solely looking to make money from home then I would stay away from this, there are better opportunities.
Note: If you are looking to make a living from home then read about how I do so online. Its a pretty great career choice and I love what I do, mainly due to the many freedoms that come with this line of work.
