So you are thinking about joining IntelliZoom to make some money online testing out websites are you? But before you do… You want to know more about it so that you don't end up wasting your time on something that is just not worth it.

So is this place any good? Is it worth your time? Can you make easy money? Or is IntelliZoom a scam that is just going to leave you disappointed at the end of the day?

In this review I'll be going over what exactly this place is, what the requirements are to become a tester, what the job of a tester is like, the pay and more.

IntelliZoom Review

IntelliZoom Panel

It is no wonder you are looking into this opportunity. Usability testing can be a nice little side income because of the flexibility it has and because it is super easy.  And... The requirements are very lenient which means pretty much anyone can become a tester.

But anyways… Let's talk about IntelliZoom. This place is actually owned by a company called UserZoom, which ends other usability testing companies like WhatUsersDo for example.

This place used to be called YouEye but when it was bought out by UserZoom it seems that the name changed.

They offer several different types of tests that you can make money with, and the pay will vary, but generally speaking you can expect to make around $10 per test, which isn't too shabby.

All in all, this is a good usability testing website.

Requirements to Join the Panel

The requirements are pretty typical for a site of this nature. They include that you…

  • Must be 18 or older and live in the US or UK
  • Need to have a desktop/laptop computer or a smartphone
  • Need to have relatively new operating system and browser (specific requirements here)
  • Need a webcam and microphone
  • Internet must be at least 3 Mbps
  • Need a PayPal account

Some more things...

Although they state that you must live in the US or UK, this isn't really true. You can be a US or UK citizen but live out of the country and still do this job remotely.

Also, although a WebCam and microphone are listed as requirements, not all tests require you to use these.

What You Will Be Doing

As a tester there are several different types of tests that you can take to make money. These include…

TOL (Think Out Loud) Studies

The TOL tests are the most common and are the ones you are probably most familiar with if you have ever looked into usability testing opportunities like this before.

These are the tests where you record yourself via WebCam while performing specified tasks on websites/apps.

And of course you will be "thinking out loud"… Saying anything that comes to mind as you navigate around websites and perform the tasks at hand.

These tests typically take around 10 to 20 minutes.

Non-TOL Studies

The non-TOL tests do not require you to record yourself or think out loud.

Some examples they give of these types include…

  • Card Sort - Here you are presented with a list of things that need to be categorized.
  • Screenshot Click Test - You our given a static image and have to figure out where to click in order to find something.

And they also have Diary studies as well as Moderated studies.

Diary studies require you to perform tasks over a extended period of time and often pay fairly well, although they are not all that common.

And with the Moderated study there will be a researcher acting as a moderator with either you by yourself or with you and a group of other participants. This type of study is also not that common.

The mean opportunities here are the TOL and non-TOL studies.

Is The Pay Any Good?

The pay actually is pretty good considering the amount of time you put into this.

For a typical TOL study, which as I already mentioned takes around 10 to 20 minutes, you will get paid an average of $10.

$10 for 10 to 20 minutes of your time?… And you can completely studies whenever you feel like it? That sounds pretty good to me.

And for the non-TOL studies you get paid five dollars on average, and these take less time.

When you have completed a study and is approved, you will get paid via PayPal 21 days later.

Why such a long wait? I have no idea, but at least you are getting paid.

Scam? No... But The Earning Potential is Limited

No... IntelliZoom is definitely not a scam. You really can make some super you the money by taking tests where you basically just look over websites and stuff, as mentioned.

I know it might sound a little bit too good to be true, but there is a downside.

The big downside is that there simply is not a lot of potential to earn much money here. Yes, you are making good money for the time you put into it, but you really won't get all that many testing opportunities.

Several tests per month is all you can really expect. But this is just a general figure to give you an idea of what you are looking at. The amount of tests you will be invited to depends on things such as your demographics and quality rating.

Conclusion - Worth Joining?

While this place is definitely not a scam, whether or not it is worth joining is a different question, which ultimately depends on what type of opportunity you are looking for.

This place is best looked at as a way to earn a little bit of extra cash on the side, but definitely is not something that you can rely on for income.

If you are going to join, you may also want to join a few other usability testing sites as well to increase your earning potential in this line of work. You can check out this list I put together of other sites.

Alternatively, if you're just looking for a way to make some money online in your spare time and want something with more potential, you might want to take a look at this program that I use to make over $6000 a month online.

I hope you enjoyed this review and found it helpful. If you have your own review for this place, leave it down below in the comment section. I'm sure it will help out other readers.

Also, leave any questions down there as well and I will get back to you as soon as I can 🙂
